My brother Spencer’s friend is the individual telling this story that happened to him the other day.

In a local restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Most Sundays we head up to Chris’ grandparents to visit. You never know who will show up, but this week we got quite the crowd. Morgan and Chelsea came up from BYU (go red)  with their friends Fatima and Whitney, Chris’ parents, Lani & Cameron, Suzy & Kelby, PLUS the Taylor crew came AND all our clan, so it was cousins galore.

Then it was freezing so EVERYONE headed inside. Lexi made Whitney her new best friend. Poor Whitney was trampled on, pulled on, jumped on, and followed. She was such a good sport. (Whitney’s the blond at the bottom).

And here we have cousin Morgan who was VERY entertaining.

It’s great to have such a loving family.

A hockey game (no pictures). Tyler played his third game today and THEY WON!! 4-1 He got one of the goals. Tyler also took one for the team. He got knocked flat on the ice – let me tell you that was not fun to be sitting in the stands and not being able to help. Really he’s fine, just a sore knee, elbow and shin.

We FINALLY took our kids to pick their pumkins. And as you can see they also got to try out their Halloween costumes. Chris’ parents took them to their Trunk-or-Treat so they were very excited to dress up. Sounds like they had lots of fun and plenty of practice for Friday.

The blonde starts crying to her husband, sobbing “That’s horrible.”

Confused, he says, “Yes dear, it is sad, but they were skydiving, and there is that risk involved.”

After a few minutes, the blonde, still sobbing, says, “How many is a Brazilian?”

Patch: “Mom, I need a treat, a sucker”

Me: “Let’s get you one”

Lexi (seeing me head to the kitchen): “I want whatever Patchy is having”

Me: “He’s having poo”

Lexi: “I want poo”

Too funny

When I went to volunteer in Caely’s class today, her teacher gave me a list of parents names. Knowing that the calls are time consuming I went straight to work, preparing for the expected rejection.

EVERY parent I got a hold of said yes, and they really meant it. No persuading. What a relief. I did 3 parties for Tyler last year and got two parents to help with one party (hope that made sense). I was pleasantly surprised and very grateful for the time these parents are committing to spend with their kids. (You all know how I feel about that).

I just wanted to say thanks to all those who have to be outside. I noticed the crossing guards who are there everyday, rain-shine-snow-hail, to protect the kids who walk to school. They are there even when NO ONE walks that day. I would not love that job, and you can bet I would complain if I did.
