My Quirks

My friend Kristy tagged me about my quirks. The thing is I am particular about many things, and when I share them with you, you will find out how really neurotic I am. Here is goes.

1. HANGERS-Caely has red hangers and Lexi uses white. It’s not so much the color, but that their clothes are separated so I can tell who’s whos’. Sounds harmless, unless you hang them on the wrong hanger and I freak out at you because it’s SO obvious that’s the order of their closet. Same w/ the boys. Tyler has big hangers (no color) and Patch used blue and green. I know, I need to let it go. (Kristy, I too have the same dishwasher fetish)

2. HAIR- When I do my girls hair there can be NO bumps, and the lines have to be as straight as allowed for the hair style. I spend waytoo much time going over their hair before I can put the rubber band in. I know you’re all thinking “but it doesn’t look that ‘done’ to me”. That’s because once it’s in I don’t care (too much) about them messing it up. I have now passed this quirk on to Caely. Sorry Grace.

3. I like to be involved in everything even though I’m of the philosophy that you can’t invite everyone. I ALWAYS want to be invited. I’m not offended if I’m not, I just secretly hope I will be next time and forever. It’s to anything. Hanging out w/ a diet coke, girls night, cleaning your house, painting, lunches, even if you get stuck at a neighbors chatting I think you should stop and call me. I think everyone is my best friend, except my super close best friends (you know who you are). But I love to be surrounded by friends. (Way too much information).

4. I get rid of everything, but have to have extras of everything. For instance, I get rid of the stuff we don’t use like clothes or dishes or what not. I am not a pack rat. If you don’t use it, get rid of it. BUT, I always have to have extra on hand of soaps, paper plates, ziplock bags, stuff you wouldn’t believe, just in case we run out and I forget to buy it. I also buy stuff I don’t use, but know my friends do so they can borrow or use it when they need it. Like scrapbook paper. I do not scrapbook, but I always have something on hand. I even bought a paper cutter so my friends could borrow if needed. I LOVE TO SHARE.

5. I want my house to be the fun house. I want all the kids to want to hang out here. The problem is see #6. I want to have toys that everybody want to play with and snacks to share. The other problem is that when friends come over and we share, things get broken and cupboards get empty. Then I’m grumpy and we’re not the fun house anymore. I haven’t found the solution to that yet, any ideas?

6. I’ve said this before, I LOVE A CLEAN HOUSE. I can’t tell you how it makes me feel to have my house clean. Usually on Saturday we clean and it stays that way for about an hour. Then the kids get stuff out again. Last year on Thanksgiving, we had a huge mess that I left before we went to our grandma’s. We didn’t get home until 1a.m. because we also opened the ice rink at Fashion Place Mall. It was a hard day and I was not looking forward to what was waiting at home. It really was a disaster. We walked in and the house was spotless! Liz had come and cleaned EVERYTHING because she knew we had a long day, that I love a clean houseĀ and mostly cause she loves me! I started bawling. Chris thought I was crazy, but I was overcome with joy, relief, and exhaustion. I almost can’t wait for my kids to grow up and leave so I can haveĀ  a clean house always. I’m a sad little person.

This was surprisingly harder than I thought. I’m sure Chris could have spit my quirks, no problem. Alright, I’d like to know the quirks of: SUZY!!!! Emily N. and Becca T. Come on ladies, you know you have them.

  1. First, you’re house IS the fun house. I’m sure Morgan wishes she lived there… especially after we made her come home tonight. Second, remember my post about being OK if everyone doesn’t like me? That’s just me dreaming of how I wish I wasn’t so insecure! I really want to be part of everything too, but most the time I am too scared to ask to be invited and too worried about what everyone will think of me when I do get invited. I love that you spilled all your quirks… you make me feel a little bit normal. But now I have to add honesty and meekness to my “Why Emily is Perfect” list! :p You’re a fun friend. Thanks for encouraging me on Friday… I’m really glad I went.

  2. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I knew all of your quirks well maybe except for the hanger thing, but thats just good organizational skills. Somehow we love you in spite of them, or maybe because of them. Either way like those aren’t THAT bad of quirks!

  3. It’s a good thing you didn’t tag me. There isn’t enough time or words to describe my quirks!

And Jaqui is right, your house is WAYYYYY fun! And I have the same hanger fetish. Except all our hangers are messed up right now. But that will change when we move.

And I know you love and miss Liz SO much, but I’m really really glad you didn’t move. Now that we like each other so much, I was afraid I’d never see you again! I wish more than anything we could live across the street from each other. I know it wouldn’t be all sunshine and happiness like I imagine it to be, but it wouldn’t super-suck either.

    Love you, Sis. <3

  4. I know you probably think those were quirks but honestly they make me think you are more amazing. I think your great. You just seem to have it all together (even though you don’t think you do). You are such a great person!

  5. I am weird about hangers too, all of my clothes have to be on white hangers. I tried to do that with my kids clothes by buying white pink and purple hangers but it didn’t really work for me, but my kids each have their own bar in the closet so I can keep their clothes seperated. It was fun to hear about your quirks, you really are an amazing person. I am the same way about thinking everyone is my best friend too. You are aren’t you? J/K Can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
